Investing is not an exact science, but alchemy. It has its rules and its philosophy - that's what we've focused on this time.

What will you learn in the new podcast?

Growth and collapse

Soros says that the market is not an infallible entity. Markets are people, and people are fallible and easily influenced. Yet their behavior is somewhat predictable and repeats itself in cycles that we call boom and bust sequences, that is, growth and collapse.

♂️ Financial alchemy

Consumers' assumptions and expectations cannot be measured scientifically but the choices they make can. They are based precisely on unreliable factors such as feelings, prejudices or assumptions.

✂️ Uses the X factor

According to him, prices in the market are always distorted because market participants are biased and their bias has a direct impact on its development. It doesn't matter if the child has a ghost under the bed or not. It's enough that he believes it's there and his fear is just as real as if it were really there.

Distorted beliefs

produce biased results that further reinforce the overall bias. Soros always contrasts himself with the so-called classical economists, who, in his view, are wrong because he considers the assumptions that form the basis of their economic theories to be false and unfalsifiable.

⚗️ Market bubbles

Soros is very fond of looking for bubbles. If he identifies one before the trend turns, he can ride its burst and the subsequent wave, and make a very profitable profit in the process. Bubbles in the market are natural and must be reckoned with.

NBS. On the basis of Regulation (EU) 2020/1503 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 7 October 2020 on European crowdfunding service providers for business and amending Regulation (EU) 2017/1129 and Directive (EU) 2019/1937 (the "Regulation on European crowdfunding service providers for business"), crowdfunding will become a legally regulated activity. From the nature of the Regulation in question, it is expected that the authority authorising and supervising the activities of crowdfunding service providers within the Slovak Republic will be the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic or the National Bank of Slovakia. As a provider of crowdfunding services, we welcome this effort of the European Parliament and we are ready to actively participate in the implementation of the Regulation in order to clarify and set uniform rules for crowdfunding within Slovakia as well as throughout the European Union.
