A significant percentage of Slovaks live in unhealthy homes - According to the Healthy Homes Barometer, up to 163 million Europeans are exposed to at least one of four factors that adversely affect the indoor environment and human health on a daily basis. The potential for improving the indoor environment lies not only in the home, but also in schools and workplaces. "The data in the study shows that healthy reconstructions make a big difference. In the long term - by 2050 - Slovakia can gain up to two billion euros in cumulative economic benefits. This means that if it invests now in healthy renovations, primarily of schools and public buildings, it will be able to evaluate these renovations as successful in the long run and individual buildings will save a significant amount of money on energy, materials, etc.," says Zdeněk Okáč.
