We talked to digital marketer Michal Čuridl - founder of iFocus agency. Is marketing a good investment? The answer is yes, but you'll learn more about it in the podcast.

Who is Michal and what does he do?

Founder of iFocus - digital advertising agency. Specialization allows them to be good and follow trends in the field. Digital marketing is a sub-section of marketing. It allows smaller companies to do what only large corporations can afford in traditional marketing. In digital marketing, we can measure really anything - even why the phone is ringing, for example.

What was his journey?

During his studies at the university in Bratislava, where he studied mechanical engineering, he worked in a travel agency. This knowledge of the reservation system and working with airline tickets got him to London, with Czech Airlines. He stayed there for 4 years and worked as a marketing manager. He visited different cities and arranged different activities.

How does he understand marketing in general?

If you have a product and you want to sell it, that's what marketing is supposed to provide. But Michal thinks that the role of marketing is to bring the client and the marketer together to find a win-win situation. Marketing needs to find the customers who are looking for the product and we have the solution for it, or our client does. To connect people with a problem with people who have a solution to the problem.

According to Michal, what is the key to success for both parties to work well together?

If the client has done market research - a good knowledge of the market and the industry is the key essence and certainly the goal - a properly and soundly set goal. Where do I want to be in a year, three years, etc. Be mentally set up that this is hard work and it may take some time to bear fruit.

When can you do your own marketing and when do you turn to the pros?

These are priorities. Everything is on the web. Scheduling, chatbots, statistics, etc. The agency has to be beneficial to the client. So the individual finds they can't be a marketing specialist and the agency takes time away from them to get more effective results.

And what about the "financial shootout" with Michael?

What is meant by financial literacy?

  • A person will make decisions that do not endanger her.

What does he like to invest in?

  • It diversifies risk and tries everything that comes along - gold, bitcoin, apps.

What does money mean to him?

  • A way to achieve your goals.

What was his best investment?

  • An investment in his health and certainly the fact that he went abroad.
