Editorial Invest in Slovakia
Peter Dendis is a marketer and project leader. He is involved in blockchain technology and therefore cryptocurrencies. In the podcast, he told us about his educational platform Komoio and also about how to cross the Danube for Bitcoins.
Who is Peter and what does he do?
It is defined as a "starter". He likes new ideas, he likes to bring people together. He sees opportunities that others don't notice. He enjoys things that make the world go round. He is a "talent finder" for projects. His strength is coming up with an idea, putting it together, and bringing people together to participate in the project. He thinks more holistically in broader contexts. He is guided by the motto: "If you don't get what you wanted, you got the experience." It's always about people and the idea should have realistic contours.
What projects does he stand behind and what have they given him?
It was most defined by the performance marketing agency. He learned from his first assignment for a Slovak company, which he worked on for half a year. It was about creating a cryptocurrency. He had people in Shanghai and all over the world. He got into the top 20 with cryptocurrencies. In the second contract he was in charge of crowdfunding, where he raised money from small investors. The next project was people who invest in startups and have a logical handle on how their investments are doing.
What is the KOMOIO project about?
It is the biggest project with the biggest ambitions. KOMOIO aims to create a scalable online tool to help people who want to start a business. It helps a person identify what kind of job they are suited for in the digital world and in the second step, it gives them a learning process until they are able to earn their first money. KOMOIO thus educates new digital freelancers.
What is his business philosophy?
Peter believes in entrepreneurship as a religion. The word "help" is often repeated in his projects. People pay for two things - to be entertained, or to have a problem solved. Entrepreneurship makes the world a better place. The evolutionary thing is that what stands, dies. What doesn't move, falls. Entrepreneurship enables a broader understanding of the world.
What is his policy on people?
He has ground rules - finding employees is like a business - he has to understand what he's looking for to see if it's a good fit. He needs to understand his needs, his capabilities and whether there is a match. He is interested in the intellect of the person. He is more interested in attitudes to work, to life and to information than skills. He often chooses a shorter working person with grit over a senior who has been doing something for a long time.
What is blockchain technology and how does it work?
Very simply, it is a database, e.g. Excel, which is shared. Everybody in the world can look at the database. There are rules about who can write to the database. Technology is used as money and it is also used as security.
How is bitcoin perceived as a cryptocurrency?
Bitcoin needs to be looked at as a pitfall. It may stall, it may have no one to write to, it may fall below some price. The risk of the blockchain stopping really is. Investing in bitcoin is risky. Bitcoin meets the condition of saving money. It has huge volatility. That will only be the case if bitcoin gets backwardated and becomes a currency.
