We talked to Simona Sedlárová. Simona has started an admirable career in marketing and sales. She worked her way up to country manager at Bonami. Along the way, she also encountered burnout syndrome.
A professional career has a broader scope. Everything has always revolved around sales and marketing. She was studying at a science college where she wanted to become a geneticist. Her first part-time job was at Hypernova, where she unloaded merchandise when she was 16. She has never forgotten the feeling of freedom when she got her first paycheck. She liked the feeling of having her own money. She worked part-time in the fashion department as an 18-year-old, then for an event agency.
How did it get to be sold?
At Adidas, she was in charge of the Reebok brand. When she saw how things worked in the company, she wanted to move on. She wrote to the manager that she would like to continue working for them. She did marketing and later worked in the sales department.
The work consumed her so much that she got to the point of "burnout". What was it like?
She was passionate about the cause, but underestimated the boundary of this is my time and I need to relax. She felt that both weekends and overtime were fine. But she was forgetting about herself. She had headaches, she was physically tired, exhausted, and the stomach problems came. Suddenly she lost all her energy. The doctor told her that her immune system was weakened and that she needed rest. She went to Bali.
What is he doing to make sure that doesn't happen again?
She schedules time for herself - going outside, meditating, reading a book.
What is Bonami and how is it different?
It is a company that sells furniture and home accessories. They started as an online retailer, and last year they opened a brick-and-mortar store. Affordable for regular people. They are strong in e-commerce. Simona works as a country manager.
