Robert Kiyosaki is a world famous name. We know him thanks to his bestseller "Poor Dad, Rich Dad" as well as from the many seminars he has conducted on the subject of money. Well, did you know this about him?

1. He has written 26 books, in 51 languages in 109 countries.

2. His first 2 companies went bankrupt. He made wallets for surfers that were made of nylon fibers so they wouldn't be damaged by moisture. But he didn't have the patents on them, so he was outbid by cheap copies from Asia. He also tried it with clothing for metalheads, equally but unsuccessfully.

3. His best-known book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" was rejected by several publishers until he finally decided to publish it himself.

4. He got kicked out of high school twice.

5. The first time he got really rich was after he started a private school on how to get rich.

6. He fought in the Vietnam War. He trained as a helicopter pilot. He went into the army supposedly because he wanted to learn how to lead people properly.

7. He retired at the age of 47. He managed to get rich thanks to an educational company where he taught people how to get rich. It was his first successful business.

8. Oprah Winfrey wanted him to reveal the identity of the rich dad from his book on her show. However, he refused because, as he claimed, he had a non-disclosure agreement with the rich dad.

9. Wrote 2 books with Donald Trump. He also supported his candidacy for president. They met when they were in the same group of motivational speakers and are still good friends today.

10. His very first book was "If you want to be rich and happy, do not go to school" (translation: "If you want to be rich and happy, don't go to school"). It was published on 1 February 1992 and many people still don't even know about it.

11. His "poor father" was not poor at all. He graduated from several universities and was a high-ranking official.

12. Will Smith is a big fan of his and wanted Robert to teach his kids about money.

13. He was sued by the co-author of the "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" series of books. They eventually settled out of court. It's not known how much Sharon Lechter got from Kiyosaki, but it wasn't little. The number is rumored to be $10 million.

14. He also sells his name to seminars that have nothing to do with him and sometimes turn out to be a scam.

15. Robert and his wife Kim decided not to have any children. So he will never become a literal rich dad himself.

16. He declared bankruptcy after losing a lawsuit worth 2⃣4⃣ million dollars. He was sued by a former business partner for allegedly failing to pay him his share of the profits and success of his books. Robert's firm claimed to have only $1.8 million in the bank.
